Wadden Sea Centre
The Wadden Sea is the largest, flattest and wettest National Park in Denmark. Nature is a unique part of Denmark and was appointed the status of National Park in 2010. The Wadden Sea is not only exceptional in Denmark - it has the status of World Heritage. The Wadden Sea Centre acts as a visitors’ centre to the world heritage site. It was designed by architect Dorte Mandrupand was rewarded with a nomination for the RIBA 2018 International List as one of 62 best, new buildings by RIBA, the prestigious British Association of Architects.
The unique nature of architect Dorte Mandrup's building is underlined by the reeds used on the facade, roof and underlay, and lists of Robinia-wood which make the already existing building melt seamlessly together with the new building. The result is a structure that almost appears to grow gently from the ground – adapting effortlessly to the flat marshland.
The centre holds more than 1000 m2 of exhibits, meeting and teaching facilities, a café and a shop. Hudevad Radiators has delivered radiators to this exceptional tourist attraction and landmark buildings in one of the most spectacular natural settings in Northern Europe.
